Carnival of Great Writers
performance of the Puppet Theatre ”Pinocchio“

Carnival of Great Writers is a street performance with 3 metres tall puppets (Vuk Stefanović Karadžić, Dositej Obradović, Jovan Jovanović Zmaj, Branislav Nušić, Duško Radović, Desanka Maksimović), an attraction for the whole family. Masters of our literature, who helped form generations of readers, are presented through the puppet animation. All of these authors were founders of the dramatic work in Serbian culture, as well as of the puppet theatre, all of them contributed to literature being brought to life, and so, as an homage to the Serbian theatre and literary scene, we felt the need to bring them to life as well, introducing them to children through a light, carnival spirit. We shall try to acchieve this through animation of the giant carnival puppets who will represent the distinguished authors.
